A New Year’s Surprise for Invermere!

 

[lead]This New Years Eve, a small group of Greenways Trail Alliance volunteers gathered in the morning hours to stamp, shovel and scrape out a 500ft wide bicycle to raise awareness for the Westside Legacy Trail.  The group, led by Kim Turgeon (Greenways Event Coordinator), took about one and a half hours to complete. The Westside Legacy Trail (#OurTrail) is a local trail initiative lead by the Columbia Valley Greenways Trail Alliance to connect Invermere and Fairmont Hot Springs with 25km of paved non-motorized pathway to be used year round.

With the use of a drone, supplied by Panorama Mountain Resort, the volunteers are able to share the fruits of their labour.
