Trail construction – one last permit!
[lead]With all the fundraising progress, we have been working to begin construction of the Westside Legacy Trail, as having your shoes or tires on the trail is what we all wish for.[/lead]
We’ve successfully applied for numerous permits to use provincial land, clear timber, build bridges, cross creeks and identify areas of archeological importance. At this point, one last permit from the Agricultural Land Commission is required and their local committee will be reviewing the trail in the third week of September to determine the trail’s impact on agricultural use. ALC decisions can take up to 60 days so we have bid the work, selected contractors and paid all the permitting fees to get started April 1, 2017 – with ALC approval.
