Segment 5 – Parkland

Segment five, named Parkland, derives its name from the views of park area on the opposite side of Westside Road. In four locations the trail will follow the original meandering path of old Westside Road which dates back almost 100 years. It contains an easily accessible parking area and is relatively flat – perfect for short rides, light hikes, wheelchair access, and family friendly activities. This portion of the trail contains three benches, a rest area and the only public road crossing (Westside Road) along the entire trail length. This segment is 5.6 kilometers in length and built upon land donated by Shaunessy Ranch Ltd., and the BC Ministry of Transportation.
